The Major District Road divides the town into north and south. The southern part of Nagda is covered by Grasim Industries and related activities, encompassing roughly 30% of the town. It has planned labour quarters, staff residential area, schools and commercial areas. Separate water supply and sewerage systems are in place in Birla
graham area. The northern part of town is governed by the Nagar Palika and houses the remaining population of the town. There are lots of commercial activities in the northern part of the town especially close to the bus stand. People from the neighbouring villages visit the Mandi near the bus stand for purchasing several items for their home needs.
Residential and town development are along the state highway. Industrial activities are happening at eastern side and to the south of Nagda. High rise building / vertical developments are not part of development. All the buildings are within three floors (Ground, first and second). However, in Birla graham, there are several organized staff
quarters with flat systems and vertical developments.
